So it turns out that I lost 10lbs in the last 3 months. I’m happy because the numbers keep going down and with it my health improves. I try to control my portion sizes even when eating fast food and it seems like its working. I still dislike having to eat empty calories and I’m working on my negative self talk.

So instead of “Godamnit! I can’t remember!” I tell myself that I’ll probably remember later. Works for the self loathing I feel whenever I eat unhealthy foods as well.

  1. [ Smiles ] Anaala, please stay away from all fast foods and eat a reasonable portion of healthy food; I highly recommend a vegan diet.

    1. Hmm, I’m working on it. I used to eat pretty healthy. With a bare minimum of meat. Like 2 – 3oz a day. I don’t particularly like it so I eat it sparingly. I eat it because I hate supplements =.=

The vegan diet doesn’t work for me anymore because of my health problems. I was vegan from birth til about 17 when I started getting hospitalized often.

So I had to introduce protein powders the usage of which lasted about as long as it took to figure out that I wasn’t lactose intolerant but allergic to milk proteins.

A lot of the food that were a staple of my original balanced diet are to be avoided or used sparingly. So things like; cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, broccoli, citrus, soy based products and high fiber foods in general are dangerous for me to ingest.

So these days the best I can manage is to eat what stays down and doesn’t case any adverse reactions in proper serving sizes. From a nutrition perspective it doesn’t matter if they’re empty calories because I need calories. I prefer to eat fruit and vegetables and such but I’ve only recently been able to start experimenting in the kitchen again.

I know enough about nutrition on my own to experiment this way but just in cause I have an RD who’s very good. So I’m improving slowly but surely. Since 2 months ago I wasn’t eating at all.

Thanks for the feedback Renard :), I would love it if you could point me to any food related resources you find useful. I’m pulling inspiration from all over the place hoping to make 1, 7 day meal plan that I can follow. Because once I get that one my problems (with nutrition) should be over.
