Video: Parent by parent, rebuilding trust in vaccination in Pakistan

These situations are so saddening. It’s terrible to see these people suffering from such an easily preventable disease just so one man in charge of a floundering terrorist organisation was killed. I understand the reasons for murdering him but to be honest I wish they’d think these things through. Was it really worth it in the end?

Last year it was revealed that the CIA ran a fake vaccination campaign as cover to hunt for Bin Laden. And of course, here’s the tragic side effect: Now, Pakistan is facing a polio crisis from unvaccinated children, because health workers are viewed with distrust — if not outright targeted by the Taliban.

Now don’t get me wrong I don’t agree with the last few wars the US began nor can I see the merit of such action. Not only were these people forced to fight an unnecessary war but a country full of citizens perpetually boasting about America’s superiority could not be bothered to take care of the people who are sacrificing life and limb to protect them.

This is a damn shame.
